Our Centre
OUR CENTRE
We are a small family run centre with qualified educators all trained in Montessori.
We believe that children learn from birth, through choosing, trying and doing themselves. We promote an environment of equality, diversity, values, belonging, happiness, security and independence. Offering specially developed materials in a prepared environment with close observation and guidance from trained Montessori Educators, helping children to build confidence and problem solve.

OUR ROOMS
INFANT / Toddler Room
Our Toddler Room provides a Montessori environment that enables children to follow their interests and learn to become independent for ages 12 months to 2.5 years.
Pre-School Room
Our Pre-School Room is a Montessori environment for children aged 2.5 years to school age. This is the room that Maria Montessori called "The Children's House", where children feel at home whilst experiencing Montessori Education.
Transparent classroom
We are very excited to inform you that Woodcroft Montessori uses a fantastic online documentation program called Transparent Classroom, which gives you access to view your child’s observations, Pictures, News, Policies and Procedures through the app or the website.

You are able to log in anywhere, anytime as long as you have access to the internet and download the app. Parental involvement is extremely important to us and we are thrilled to be able to provide you with this accessibility to your valuable child's information.

To offer all children a service that promotes equality and values diversity no matter what race, religion and gender.

To meet every child’s needs, through offering various experiences which will help them achieve the 5 outcomes of learning through the Montessori Curriculum Areas of Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics and Cultural Studies.

To offer experiences that will help the children to become independent, become resilient and have responsibilities.

To work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop through the Montessori Curriculum.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
The Montessori Method
The Montessori Method of education harnesses the child’s natural ability to learn, using a proven scientific method that offers concrete experiences and materials to abstract principals.

It focuses on six areas of learning: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, Culture and Creative Arts. The curriculum aims to support all aspects of the child’s personal and social development within a structured environment.

It also emphasises on giving the child the opportunity to progress at their own pace. Maria Montessori the founder of the Montessori method of education started her first classroom in 1907. She stressed the importance of respecting children and quoted "Free the child's potential and you will transform them into the world".
